Join the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Club

The Hudson Public Library 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Club is a fun and exciting reading program for children ages 0-5 years. This program was developed to increase awareness of the importance of early literacy as well as encouraging parents to embrace their role as their child’s first teacher.

Each child will receive a folder with pages to record the books they read and information about early literacy. Each time a goal of recording 100 books is reached, children are encouraged to bring their reading log to the library to receive a stamp and a prize celebrating their accomplishment. Children are not required to read certain books; they can read any book they would like.

Stop by the library anytime to pick up a folder and get started!

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
