Library Card
Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.
Patrons may register for a free library card at the checkout desk.
Bring photo ID with current Iowa address or photo ID with a piece of mail addressed to you at your current address.
Parents may use their ID to register their child (under 18) for a library card.
Open Access library cards are available to residents of other counties in Iowa with a current photo ID and in accordance with Open Acess rules. Library cards expire every three years.

Check-out/renewal:
You may renew items one time for the same check-out period providing there are no reserves on that item. Renewals may be made in-person at the checkout desk, by phone, or on-line at www.hudson.lib.ia.us (with account password)
Items may be returned in the outside drop box or at the check-out counter.
Fines and Fees:
There are no fines accrued for books, magazines, and audiobooks. Overdue fines are 5 cents a day for all other items, which includes DVDs, CDs, and all equipment checkouts.
If item is not returned within 2 months of the due date, the patron will be charged the replacement cost.
If you have more than $10.00 in fines library privileges are suspended.
Charges may be paid by cash or check at the circulation desk.
